Translucent layers of colour and mark making typify Molly’s style and her recent work, shown here, has become progressively more open and exploratory in approach.
Ideas for paintings are an eclectic mix of things she has seen and places visited – landscapes abroad and closer to home. These new paintings are inspired by the qualities of light in the changing seasons, combined with a recurring use of symbolism.
Molly trained at Camberwell and now combines her painting with demonstrations and teaching. A grant from South East Arts in 2000 enabled her to work on a large scale landscape project in Sussex.
Her paintings have been exhibited throughout the UK: in the last couple of years at the Hutson Gallery London, Jointure Studios Ditchling, AAF London, Blue Wing Gallery Kew, and solo shows at the Crypt Gallery Seaford and St.Mary's Lighthouse Whitley Bay.
