Ursula is fascinated by bringing together the very basic natural pigments used since early cave painting, with the colour of modern technology.
In using earth and sand to complement modern paints and varnishes, she aims to create a universal picture of our experience of modern-day life.
Juxtaposing natural and synthetic elements on canvas forms unpredictable interacting patterns. The two elements, representing past and present, weave together a multilayered patchwork.
Ursula has painted most of her life but retrained at the Byam Shaw School of Fine Art in 1997/8 and then went on to do an MA in Fine Art at City & Guilds of London Art School. Since 2000 her work has been shown at various galleries and art fairs in London and the UK, as well as New York and Japan.
