Teresa Lawton

Teresa's paintings are of an inner world, affected by the memories of places or of people and animals, whether dreams, colours or shadows, simple marks in the sand or random objects which get washed up along the coast.

Teresa paints instinctively, building up deep rich areas of polished colour, scored and marked as the work develops, subtly revealing the hidden shapes within; the aim is to compose an absolute balance by buidling up layers, divisions and dynamic overlays in order to create a calm.

She trained at Winchester, and now lives and works in the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset. Teresa's work has been shown at the RA, New York Art Fair, the Laing Exhibition and the Art Loan Colelction at Bournemouth University, and is exhibited regularly at London art fairs and in the South West.

Teresa's work will be exhibited with us for the first time at the Autumn Show.
